I paint offices in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie after hours or on weekends, so the space is ready for staff the next working day. Every job starts with a site visit and a written quote.

Got more than one job in mind?

Plenty of Newcastle homes need a couple of things done at once, like interior and exterior, or a roof and gutters together. We quote it as one job, so you get one clear written price from your local painter in Newcastle.

What does an office repaint include?

An office repaint usually covers the reception area, meeting rooms, open-plan work areas, private offices, the staff kitchen and the corridors between them. Walls and ceilings are the main surfaces, with doors, door frames, skirting boards and window trims added where they are worn.

You choose the areas and surfaces, and each one is listed in the written quote. A single meeting room, one floor or a whole tenancy is quoted the same way. The office in this photo is a Newcastle job: an open-plan area and a private office repainted ready for use.

Can you paint the office while we keep working?

Yes. Most office painting is done after hours or on weekends, so staff are not working around drop sheets and ladders. The work can also be staged one area at a time, for example the meeting rooms one night and reception the next, so the rest of the office keeps running.

Access is agreed before the job starts: key or swipe card handover, alarm codes, building security and any after-hours rules from the building manager. Desks and furniture near the walls are moved away from the working area where practical and covered, and floors are protected with drop sheets.

What paint is used in an office?

Low-odour, low-VOC paint is the default for offices that are in use. VOC stands for volatile organic compounds, the solvents that give fresh paint its smell. A low-VOC paint has far less of them, so the room can be used again the next morning.

Office walls get marked by chairs, bags and hands, so the finish needs to wipe clean. A washable low-sheen finish suits most office walls, a matt finish suits ceilings, and doors and frames get a harder enamel. The paint for each surface is written into the quote.

Do you paint empty tenancies before a new lease?

Yes. An empty office or shop between tenants is the easiest time to paint, because there is no furniture to move and no one to work around. Landlords and property managers book a repaint to get a tenancy ready to lease, and tenants book one at the end of a lease when the agreement asks for it.

The commercial tenancy pictured is in Warners Bay, painted in April 2026 while it was empty.

What affects the cost of office painting?

The floor area, ceiling height, the number of rooms and doors, the condition of the existing paint and the hours available for access all change the price. After-hours and weekend work is planned into the written quote from the start.

Frequently Asked

Questions about office painting in Newcastle

Do you paint offices after hours?

Yes. Offices are usually painted after hours or on weekends so staff can work as normal. The access times, key handover and alarm arrangements are agreed before the job starts and written into the quote.

How long does it take to paint an office?

It depends on the size of the office, the number of rooms and the hours available each night. A single meeting room can be done in one session, while a whole floor is staged over several nights. The timeline is set out in the written quote before work starts.

Will the office smell of paint the next day?

Low-odour, low-VOC paint is used in offices that are in use, so the smell is much lower than with older paints. Ventilating the rooms overnight helps. Mention anyone in the office who is sensitive to smells when you ask for a quote.

Can you match our brand colours?

Yes. Send the colour codes from your brand guide or a physical sample, and the paint can be tinted to match. Feature walls in a brand colour are quoted with the rest of the office.

Do you paint shops and other commercial spaces too?

Yes. Shops, salons, small commercial spaces and empty tenancies are painted the same way, with access agreed around trading hours. Recent commercial jobs include a butcher's shopfront in New Lambton and an empty tenancy in Warners Bay.
